The Dog Lovers Gift List 2023

I know it’s been a busy year – you’ve walked, you’ve groomed, you’ve cuddled and you’ve treated – (none of which had anything to do with your beautiful dog!)  Seriously, you have put a lot of hard work and effort into giving your four-legged besties an amazing year – but your responsibilities are not over yet.  You still have to deliver on the big day and that’s less than a month away.

So, to help you stay the favourite human in your house, I have compiled a list of the best presents you can gift your dog this Christmas – so read on and enjoy!

What’s top of the list at Christmas? – Toys obviously!  I am a big fan of toys that stimulate our lovely dogs, keeping their mind active and them out of trouble!

A snuffle Rose from Twegin is a soft toy which acts as a squeaky and a slow feeder – it’s very cute and a bargain at £11.99, whilst the Puzzle feeder by Carozen for £24.99 – couldn’t be more fun and might be worth introducing for humans too!  Both available from Amazon.

OK – so you can’t have Christmas without amazing food and I know you both have to be happy on this one, so why not book yourself Afternoon Tea at the newly opened super luxe hotel - The Peninsula in London.  With rooms starting at eye watering amounts – you don’t have to be priced out of the fun – you can go for a dog friendly afternoon tea and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and wonderful ambience for just £95!!!

If you want something a little less formal- why not get the party started and organize your own doggy Christmas or Birthday Party at a Brew Dog venue? Fabulously, they offer special Dog party packages starting at £6 a pup which includes pet party hats, a card - as I know you have a very clever dog who can read, a dog-friendly ice cream sundae and they’ll make a £1 donation to dog charity Street Paws too.  Love some socially conscious gifting!

Now – let’s talk boutique gifts – I am sure your dog is no stranger to luxury – so they might be interested in some of the design led dog accessories from the brand Caroline Gardner.  I had the pleasure of working with them this year and I saw their latest dog accessory range.  I am loving their Khaki and Black Heart dog harness for £26 and the orange and cream stripe dog collar for £18.  Both stylish and very cool, so I am just not sure what you are waiting for!

Who doesn’t need a little bit of pampering at this time of year - and our dogs are no different. A paw and nose balm is the perfect doggy stocking filler. Bugalugs lick safe balm has a vegan formula and reduces skin irritation and redness for £6.99

Be cultured - Elliot Erwitt is one of the world’s most respected and well known street and dog photographers, who sadly passed away this year. His photo book ‘Dogs’ is a perfect gift for anyone who loves photographing their dog - and have you ever met someone whose camera roll isn’t full of pictures of their own bestie?

Stocking or sack? A debate that will never end! If you have gone to town with the presents, I would recommend ordering your dog their own personalised sack with their name and icon of choice, to stash all their pressies. At £19.99 from Yappy, it’s machine washable so will get used for many years to come and it even says it’s from ‘Santa Paws’ - so cute!

Finally - you know that no self-respecting dog can successfully make their way forward in life, and on Instagram, with-out having their professional photos taken and that’s where I come in.  Dog photoshoot gift vouchers are available from £185 and are a fab way to celebrate your dog and ensure their social standing at doggy day care. They might even let you share the limelight and join in for a few portraits too!

In all honest truth - the best gift of all has to be our love – free and abundant and never ending – proving that the best things in life can’t be bought!  Happy holidays all – hope you have a great one!

A few kind words from some of my lovely clients!

“My pup Miso and I spent a morning with Suzi on Hampstead Heath. Miso is a bit nervous around new people but Suzi put her at ease instantly. She has a brilliant eye for the composition of the photos, even when I can't immediately see how it would work. All of the photos turned out wonderfully and I felt they really captured Miso's cheeky mischievous and happy personality and our bond. I couldn't choose between the photos so pretty much bought most of the ones that she took. I would highly recommend Suzi to anyone who wants to capture memories of their pups.” Shu Shin, Miso’s human

“Suzi was so lovely with our dog and a pleasure to work with. The photos were better than I’d hoped for - we have a very active boy and she captured not only some fantastic action shots but also really his character and personality. I’d highly recommend!” Anne, Harry’s human

“Everything about our photoshoot with Suzi was fantastic. She has a natural way with dogs and people, making the session relaxed and fun. Her wonderful photos perfectly capture our family and will be treasured. The quality of the prints is outstanding too - we couldn't be more pleased.” Holly, Frida’s human
